I have an engineering challenge and would like to fulfil the following.

    Convert a 4x100 hub mk2 to 5x112 hubs. The Mk2 has late mk2 hubs aka 16v/G60.

I want to do this without adaptors and maintain current suspension legs etc.

    - Is there enough meat on 5x100 hubs & rear discs to support redrilling?
    - Can late Passat or similar hubs be made to fit? Re-grind to fit bearings etc?

    Thanks,

    Gurds

Not sure if there similar but I was looking at my mk3 abf front hubs and rear disks this weekend as I was thinking of adapting to 5x120 to fit some bmw wheels. But after looking at some old rear disks I had lying around and a spare front hub, I dont think it would be possible or safe, the holes on both are litterally a few mm from the edge at 5x100 especially on the rear disks.

    Please do tell sir! [:-B]

Had a friend measure up a front VR6 hub and it came out at 127mm. With a PCD of 112 and using M12 bolts, after re-drilling that leaves approx 1.5m from the bolt hole to the edge of the front hubs. Bit close to the edge really.

So daved, let the cats (i know you have more than 1) out of the bag [:D]
Audi/Passat hubs pressed into mk2 bearings?

    Quick clue:

If the Mk2 VWMS rally cars used Audi 80 4 x 108 hubs, with Passat bearings, and Audi 80 CV joints, and I can do the same, using the rear 4 x 108 hubs, from my 90 20V Q, which I have replaced with 90 S2 5 x 112 rear hubs.

    Then:

    Ipso Facto. The 5 x 112 rear hubs from a 90 S2 can be fitted on a Mk2 front!

Next thing. You'll want to know how to do the rear stub axles for 5 x 112!

Audi A4 FWD late 90's run a beam similar to mk2's on the back so...... stub axle and assembly from that? Or is the answer even more simple?

By the way, You guys are AWESOME! That would actually earn you scene points on E38 but I won't tell anyone.

Don't think so Alan! The rears are a little problematical.

The only 5 x 112 rear stubs I know of are the Audi 100 units. They use different bearings to the Mk2. They are circular where they bolt to the beam. The caliper is carried on the beam.

    So:

Take an Audi 100 rear stub.
Re-drill the Mk2 rear beam to suit the Audi stub bolt's PCD.
Make a spacer plate, to carry the caliper, you will need an Audi Caliper.
    Fit Audi 100 discs with 5 x 112 bolting.

You may well be correct about the A4 and later Passats, Gurds. That would be grand, if it's so! It may be easier that way.

    But:

I've never looked at any VAG car built since 1992!

Or re-drill the rear discs on a VR6 as there seems to be enough space at the back.

Latest Polo's are also 5 stud...

    Daved.......

Sukh, could you state what car each part relates to?

    Thanks,
