I have read the whole thread but only in bits and pieces so apologies if i've missed/forgotten something, but didn't it all go wrong with the fancy charger and chip?? If so, have you spoken to whoever did the work (again, sorry if this is covering old ground)

mmmm, this problem started at the end of august.
in july i fitted the duostyling afr gauge.

and ive just read on dubforce that people are having a similar problem to mine after fitting one of these.

    nice.

edit:also ive noticed recently (as well as other things fecking up-fuel leaks-p,steering etc...) the problem never happens when the cars been left overnight, always once its been driven within the last few hours...

    nice.

Put it back to standard, completely standard if you can. Then if it's running right change the parts over 1 by 1. At least this way you can illiminate them as being f**ked if things start to go pair shaped.
Thats the only thing and modifiying everything in one go. If things go pear shaped you have to try and source the problem from quite a number of changes.
Stick with it matey, you'll get there!! [:D]

That sounds like a likely culprit actually - I've always read that an AFR gauge should be run from a separate o2 sensor, as they can throw the readings given to the ECU off. Try just clipping the wire to the gauge......

Crikey, totally agree with TSC. Have you had that AFR connected to the factory o2 sensor all this time?

yeah, connected to the lambda wiring near the plug,is that not right then? [:$]

ps:trev,i forgot to ask,did you get the ecu back okay? [:$]

tsc,ill try disconnecting it from the loom, but i cant remember if i tried that somewhere along the line thinking about it...

    cheers guys. :)

It should run off it's own sensor, as I said some gauges will throw off the reading the ECU sees.....
