Quick bump and question if that's ok? Does it matter which way round the rods are, if that makes sense? I'm fitting my new rods into my block tomorrow. I've already fitted them to my pistons but didn't think if they need to be one way or t'other?

after a quick look back through this thread I think I've answered my own question. bearing tangs (ie small the small cutouts on the rods) go to the inlet side? just checked mine and 3 are right, if this is the correct way! at least I haven't put them in the block yet!

I'm going to be fitting rods to my car later this year you make it look easy. Good idea doing it inside in the warm! What make inlet manifold is that you're using? Also who's going to do you're mapping?

Went for some map tweaking today so I can actually drive it properly and put more miles under its piston rings

Had a small issue after few hours of getting fuelling tweaked, my throttle assembly(Porsche 996 self contained unit) failed/broke so we had to call it a day but we got to getting fuelling safe. We did however maxed out injectors so mapping will have to resume in Cpl of weeks time after few hardware changes

Engine sounded sweet as a nut and made just over 400hp at 1.7bar and this is without even looking at optimising ignition so all looks very promising for my goal of 500hp or a bit more should be within reach at around 2br of boost and further calibration

    few pics from today

Up until recently he was in Milnraw Rochdale but has since gone mobile as he is on a look out for a different unit.

Tbh man has so many contacts around the country he can borrow a dyno pretty much anywhere in uk

Today we were at his mates Porsche specialist place called 9Meister in Warrington

Today i found out how i managed to max out my 780cc injectors at around 400bhp as they should be good for over 600bhp!

Well it turns out my secondary main Bosch 044 pump was not even running. Basically engine was running of in tank pump only! Cant believe it actually managed to supply enough fuel for 400 bhp but that was helped by use of those large injectors

Main pump up and running now so 2nd stage of mapping will be done as soon as my mate is free and i sort out my high biting point clutch :)
