I've updated the mk2 section for plug D to say what feeds do what :)

Otherwise a good way to tell is pull your x relay 18 out the fusebox, then test to see what feeds are still ignition live

I think I am still confused with the CE1 box. My front wipers do not work but the water nozzles do. My back wipers work, but either I don't know how to use the washer back there, but it does not work. The stalk sticks a bit when using the front wash nozzle but using it for the rear wiper it works fine. suggestions?

Do the front and rear wipers run off the same relay?

they are both powered by the x-contact 17/18 relay, but for the actual operation of the wipers there is a separate front relay 19 or 99, and the rear is 20 or 72. the washers are fed direct from the stalk though

Great! I am pretty sure we have spoken on Facebook and I am going to post this on the mk2 page in a minute also.

    update with pics!

First off to whomever has followed my posts.... I was bored at a stop light and just rolled the dimmer switch back and forth, back forth, finally I see the LCD clock screen AND the light for the temp gauges working, move the dimmer some more and they are off. LOL! PROGRESS! Next, I followed the directions to remove the dash and get to the cluster to change the bulbs. Other than some or missing or rusted screws there were no problems. I disconnected the speedo cable, and was going to pull the "one" electric plug, only to find there were 2 of them for the cluster.? one on each side.

    Kjet thermoswitch wire

Trying to find a wire break, as my cold start doesn't work (injector fine and thermoswitch)
and following the fuseboard layout I have found that this wire

18- red/blk- thermo switch for cold start valve (K-Jet f/inj) or digifant ECU pin 1

is not in my PIN C connector (CE1)

car is 8v 1984 GTI, if that helps

just curious if there's a chance the wire is somewhere else? or my loom has been tampered with more than I thought
cheers in advance if anyone can help

    Mike

do you at least have the spade connector on plug C for it? look in the back of the plug to see if the wire has been yanked out of the pin it can happen. on these you will have a 2 pin plug behind the fusebox with 2x red/black and 2x green/white wires, the C plug wire needs to plug into the red/black side leaving the green/white side empty.

worst case you could tap the thermoswitch & 5th injector red/black to the 15a terminal on the starter motor if it has one. later kjet have the 5th injector here as standard anyway

the heater is white on plug K, the green/white in the mk2 list refers to the wee wire with spade that feeds the heated wing mirrors :)

little bit confused on my electric window setup on the ce2 golf gti fusebox

y1234 is as follows..1-2 unused / currently have a single connector on for electric windows...so perm live
    y3 battery live
    y4 bridges to 30b

d9 seems to be 2 black wires, one with a connector on the end and the other is going off somewhere but seems to be indicated in the guide as 9 - blk/yel - electric window relay pin 86 (ignition live, fuse #14)..the wire looks too thin to feed the windows.

So basically i have 1 free slot perm live and one used spot for windows live.

The drain must be minimal but its obviously got the switches lit up all the time and i want to avoid that.

    any thoughts?
