Folks, can you swap the original standard blobby rear rhs engine mount on an 8v gti with a G60 one? Will it fit directly onto the original ally bracket bolted to the back of the block?
    Thanks in advance.

Rear engine mount can be the bonded rubber bush from the Golf G60 - 191199262E, the bonded rubber bush from the 8v GTI - 191199262A or the 16v hydro item - 535199262.

And they all fit directly without changing the engine bracket or the subframe bracket? 262e and 262a look identical on Google images.

the 16v one replaces the lower bracket on the subframe, its easy enough to remove the 2 bolts that hold it on they are accessible from underneath with a standard socket set.

I imagine it may even be easier to remove the old mount while still attached to the bracket even, not that I have tried as luckily I've not needed to do a mount engine in I've only done them engine out

As said in another thread, I did this to see if there was any difference to drive feel and engine movement. In the end the subjective answer is no!
I used/use the above examples with a HRP front mount.
