    Thanks Sam.
    I have messaged him.
However, I have an inbuilt reluctance to get work done a long way from home since having issues with a previous job, funnily enough in Bridgend. When things go wrong or take longer than expected it is a right pain in the backside to remedy when you have a 400 mile round trip for a face to face.
That's why I now try to stay local.

I’ve never known anyone to have an issue with Martins work, i certainly haven’t!

There are still plenty of good guys out there. I have just been unlucky on my last two major expenditure rebuilds :(

I've never heard a bad word said about Hotgolf's work in nigh on 20 years on here.

He'd be my go to for any VW gearbox work.

Well, there is a message on Gas n Gears Facebook saying Martin has an injury and is not able to work! Apparently he can’t reply to messages either so must be serious. I hope it’s not too serious and he gets better soon @Hotgolf

    Hope Mart's ok!

I used a firm in St. Abans area once, never again, they took ages to swap a VR6 casing onto a 16v gearing and fit a Peloquin diff.
The box crunched into 3rd and Martin (hotgolf) found issues with the diff. bolts when he later stripped it. Can't think of their trading name now it was a long time ago.

    Aha! Gearboxman.co.uk
