Golf/Corrado VR6 box

Is there a difference in ratios?

I hear there is, but am told by others there isn't!

Please inform me?

They are exactly the same....

 

The USA rado's had differnt ratios probably to make up for the lack of the 2.9 lump over there. Their rados are 2.8's

I was under the impression they were different too!

having said that, my vr6 syncro (2.9 mk3) box seems to have the same ratios as my mates 2.8 golf vr6...

 

IIRC the Raddo gears are different

wheres 800g's when u need him

 

Was under the impression that the final drives of the corrado box's were lower than the golfs - sure phat always recommended switching to a corrado for a 3.6 instead of the golfs 3.3 or whatever it was.

 

Vince at Stealth Racing compared the two boxes and has the
data in books they are the same even got same code.

 

Think Phats was under this impression until he spoke to Vince at Stealth.

yep, thats exactly the case.

 

phatvr6 recommends finding an earlier (cant remember the year) passat that has the 02a and a 3.94 fd.
