So, at motorway speeds, the car occasionally judders/stutters, ive put this down to traction, as sometimes the traction control light comes on and it does feel like a slight wheel spin. Tonight, after a 3 hour motorway journey, i got the stuttering but for about 5 seconds, that was followed by a flashing yellow glowplug light, and no power - just enough to drift onto the hard shoulder cutting up a hgv... The car did the exact thing a few weeks ago, and went in for a bit of work, new head/timing belt/water pump, and a new glowplug. The engine doesnt actually cut out, but i switch off and restart, and then the car drives as normal. I will obviously get it scanned when i can, but wondered if anyone had a clue as to what it could be... Thanks in advance!
Possibly, would they give these symptoms. Odd how it drives normal after being shut off and restarted...
Any fault that effects emissions will put it into a limp mode so no good guessing, needs a scan. Could be 101 different things
Slightly older, but my 2007 1 9 tdi a4 would do this, never really got to the bottom of it, but no lights on the dash at all, it was as you say a stutter. Few people suggested turbo vanes sticking from memory. But definitely need a scan to check codes.
