hi all, at GTI international last year I noticed on the tsr stand they had an 8v cross flow head, they wouldnt say what it was from does anyone know what its from or have the part number for it ?

It'll be an american head most likely. The new beetle etc. had a crossflow 2 litre 8v over there.

what age of beetles ? ansd do you mean the rabbit gti ?

 

The new beetle, as in the watercooled ones.... rabbits are Mk1's and have a normal head.

 

the new beetles had them here too I think.

 

cheers man I will go and check them out ! its for a mk1 I want one for (think it would be good for a carb conversion)

They came out in 94 here on golfs, jettas and cabriolets. We only have 2 choices of motors so its either that or step up and get the VR6.
So yes there are millions of those heads around.

AFAIK they were only available in the states - I could be wrong though. Although it's very rare indeed, I have in fact been wrong before. (Cue cries of disbelief)

 

How many do you need then? Will a 5x5 foot crate do?

 

not if it's to go in the back of a Vauxhall Corsa driven by a drugged-up fool......

you can get 8v crossflow heads here. they come on the mk4 golf 2.0 gti not just the beetle, where do you think phatvr6 mate lee got one for his g60 turbo, little ole moi
