    Afternoon folks,

I have been looking for a really nice Scirocco Gt2 for over a year now and not found anything that I fancied, I was looking for that low owner low mileage jobbie that we would all like I dear say anyway, I had a moment of weakness last week and bought a basket case with my new intension of a resto mod . It’s a lot more work than I wanted but what the hell it will give me something to do .

Other than owning one back in the nineties I’ve been a Ford man all my life , the reason I mention this is that I’m not clued up on VW so, I would really appreciate any help and advice in advance

    cheers

Welcome aboard. There is a huge amount of help and info on here and anything can be achieved. I had a gtII many years ago and enjoyed it until it hit a police car
Start a build thread and the help will come.

Great to see another Scirocco owner, I daily drive a red GT2 with a 20v in it, they are cracking little cars and few and far between these days!

    Hello Daz ,

The 20v is the route I want to take. I have another small job to sort first and the im hoping to make a start on the Scirocco. I will try the search buttons first as I'm sure its been done to death but I'm new to Vw and unsure of whats what thanks again

    Morning folks,

I was hoping to get more involved with project after my current one but there may be a chance of a complete 2002 Cupra turbo ,
As previously mentioned I’m not that clued up on the Vw’s so, my question is , could the ecu be made to run in my Scirocco? And what about the gearbox ? Many thanks

You can use the engine, gearbox, ecu and engine loom from the Cupra in the Scirocco.

to put it briefly...Company called Epytec sell the conversion mounts to get it all mounted, then its a case of sorting out the wiring, fuelling (fuel pump setup), downpipe/exhaust, intercooler and pipework, hydraulic clutch, cooling, fitting cupra shifter tower, bigger brakes if you want them etc... The easy part is getting the engine in!

Overall its a pretty simple conversion and has been done to death so plenty info out there, i made a little video on the conversion in mine, may help a bit
