Seen this and it looks nice.
    1.8t 20v sport, y reg in silver - i could get it for around 800 i reckon.

did a check and it had a few advisories from the last mot:

    Advisory Notice issued
Nearside Headlamp deteriorated but light output not reduced (1.7.5a)
Offside Headlamp deteriorated but light output not reduced (1.7.5a)
Nearside Front Brake hose slightly deteriorated (3.6.B.4d)
Offside Front Brake hose slightly deteriorated (3.6.B.4d)
Under-trays fitted obscuring some underside components
Engine covers fitted obscuring some components in the engine bay

I did notice the headlights were a bit discoloured but i assume these could be cleaned up - what about the other items, is 800 a good deal...?

    Ta.

the headlight have prob 'gone' not being clear plastic
not that many advisers for a Y reg car, but the 3B is a solid chassis

Second hand headlights would be a simple fix. New brake hose, equally so.

Engine covers stopping them seeing stuff wouldn't concern me too much. Not a right lot to check, MOT-wise, at the top of the engine. Under trays might stop them inspecting the inner CVs at worst, but as long as it starts and drives straight with no knocks/bangs, I'd say 800 is a bit if a bargain.

    Well, i bought it.

And im pretty impressed with it - its in really good nick inside and out, it pulls much better than id imagined - which is nice [:D]

One thing though, where can i get a locking nut removal tool for this, and can i replace just the headlight plastic bit or does it come as one unit.

    Thanks.

You can't get the headlight plastic covers from TPS/VW as i have tried for my bora so i would say look about on ebay or similar for a new set cheap

Locking nut tool if there genuine VW locking nuts i believe you can still order them from a dealer but not cheap otherwise get a local garage to get them off with a special removal socket then buy some new one's
