Just bought a 90 G plate 8v that has been off the road for about 5 years. MOT’d with no advisory’s! Runs good but seems to be heavy on fuel! Runs lumpy till it’s warmed up. Any suggestions? Changed plugs and leads

There's 2 switches, one idle which is in front and one WOT, at the rear. They can affect the running.

if the switch up top is broken the ECU will never see that throttle is near/fully open, so will affect it when under load but it wouldn't affect running at lower loads or the idle. But the idle and wot switches are connected in parallel so if the WOT switch is shorted out inside then the ECU will be pretty confused

Check the wiring to the plug round the back and get a multimeter on the throttle plug to test if the idle switch is working, but regardless you'll want a replacement throttle body or pair of throttle switches at least. If you remove the throttle body be sure to get a decent allen head tool to get the bolts undone as they can be pretty tight and you dont want to round them off

Wide Open Throttle, or Full Throttle.
