The main reason you fit them is to give you more space for the 20v engine, since its larger round the back of the cylinder head.

Pigbladder on here fitted one to his G60 with 280mm brakes and took it off again as he didnt like the feel of it vs a well bled 22mm. So YMMV

Your mileage may vary - means the advice you get on the internet may vary with your own findings. :)

Ok so no real benefit in terms of increased fluid displacement vs pedal travel ?
I read that a T4 Transporter 25.4mm m/c might work in my case so I'll check that out.

they do move a little more fluid, but as I say you may not like the change. personal preference. Id say unless you have a 20v engine its not worth the added hassle, you can get 24mm direct fit units if you need something that pushes more fluid for a normal engine

    Those pesky yellow monkeys... [:D]

Isn't there a Transporter cylinder too that fits?

Have you a long pedal on the G, Brian?

    Hi thanks for that,
Most searches using that part number bring up a 22.2 mm master cylinder though?

I belive a t4 transporter 25.4mm m/c will work alright but it might be too much the other way??
Seat used a 23mm m/c on the ibiza that my calipers are lifted from ..
Yeah the g60 T , I've beld the bejasus out of them and it still quite long I think , might try again though with the old two person pedal method, there was a lot of air in the rears .

I’m in the same situation, I never thought the pedal feel inspired confidence, it always felt long. G60 fitted to mine.
Interested in this 6N0614019A, does it take the same size brake line fittings?

I presume you had the calipers off and hanging up as far as the flexi allows, nipple pointing up?

I thought yours wasn't bad when I drove it, though that's years ago.
Have you adjusted the handbrake lately, by cranking out the lever on the calipers?
I find adjusting them up there, rather than tightening the cable gives a better brake. And uou always get another crank out of them with the caliper off, i like to have them just snugly sliding on over the pads.

'most searches' are wrong then :p
    Clipboard01.jpg

as its ABS type the fittings are M12, seems lots of the searches mistakenly list 6N0614019A as being the same as 6N0614019

The car has no brakes on it now, I’ve bought new calipers, discs and pads to refresh everything.
The pedal travel always felt long to me compared to modern stuff, it just never felt right imo.

Is there anything available with m10 fittings, same as original mk2?
