I imagine this involves buying the bits from your local industrial hose supplier - a Pirtek or similar - so you'd need to figure out what fittings you need in advance.

i would of thought as long as it k-jet then it should apply, ive done this on my own 2ltr 16v 9a modified engine. stealth racing adjust there wur mod to 48 psi, but they do have rolling road to get the right setup tho,

    Got a few questions.

I found the guide a little muddled. Ive set my pressure to the specified amount but not sure if i did it right. The only way i found it could be adjusted was with the engine running and the stop tap open. Is that right?

Also my mate has a mk1 cab 1.8 8v kjet but when we took the wur off it looked like this and there didnt seem to be an adjuster screw. Can this mod not be done on the DX engine? Could you maybe switch the wure for a mk2 item?

the 8v one's are diffrent it can be done but it is a real pig to do
thar is two way's the do this
one is to blend the end of the pin that acts on diafram with a oil stone to get the req pressure
the other is to bend the bimetallic strip to get the req pressure
both req the wur to be striped and rebuilt several times to get it right
plus you need the the pressure gage to set it
it is a bit hit or miss
or try and fit a 16v one if this is wot you wont
in the end it will need to go on a rolling road so best to get it done then

yes you did it right if you adusted it with the tap open
did you let the car warm up first
it needs a good run first
you shoud get inproved low speed pickup and no flat spot below 3000rpm
    if you did it right
as pigbladder sed you will need to reset the co% at idle

The reason i asked was because i had to adjust down from 5 bar down to 3.8 or whatever it is (cant be bothered to look back). Anyway i havent yet adjusted my co but so far so good really. No HUGE increase in power but it certainly is livelier! Had a good old thrash late the other night. I usually struggle a little top end with the 9A conversion but now it revs all the way no problem. Even got 130mph on my private airstrip!

the same and had to wind it back to get it started
but i cheaked it first before i drilled it and it was 3.8bar and is now just below 3.4 bar
this may have happend to yours

If your talking about the system pressure then that needs to be 5 bar { tap closed }, you add or take shims { washers } in the pressure valve to gain or reduce system pressure , the big hex headed bolt , at the front of the metering head. The system pressure, effects the warm up reg , so the wur now now needs to be adjusted back to 48 psi { tap open }, once all thats done , then go back and re-adjust the CO content to 2 %

look at the photo below if you look at the date you will see the relief valve right next to the 04 in the date the shims go in there

I knocked up this recently for mine, gauge and tap I got off ebay found here and the rest of the fittings I got from pirtek, they cut one of them in half for me in the lathe and then I drilled a hole in it and silver soldered part of an old line into it to be able to attach it to the metering head, the tap end where the original hose connects to, the fitting isn't perfect their but it is good enough for these purposes. The trouble with kjet stuff is, it is metric nuts with imperial pipe fittings inside, so nothing off the shelf seems to work, it cost about 23 all in.
