Guys who's do you think would be best for my mk2 a rough spec is
    Vr6 2.8 turbo 4wd 480 bhp
    Haldex 4wd conversion
    Full roll cage
    Recaro seats
    Audi 312 front brakes
    Mk4 rear brakes
    Full stainless exhaust.
    Front mount intercooler
Uprated fuel system and ally tank.

The company I use for my American modified cars has given me a price of 675 which seems quite steep compared to what I pay on my 600hp 1929 ford model A hotrod.

    Thanks
    Dan

    How old are you?
Adrian Flux are the only one to quote for my 24 yr old son . Brentacre couldn't, Lancaster wouldn't.

Thanks for the reply guys. I'm 33 with 12plus no claims although that's on my daily. I'll definitely give the suggestions a try.

TBH, with the latest insurance price hikes, 675 is not too bad. Why not try a classic car policy with someone like Hagerty.

Yeah maybe it is just that. The excess is also 600 which is whats making me struggle to go with it. So I might try some of the others and see if I can get any better and if not at least try and get the excess down a bit. My excess is no where near that on any of my other classic policies or normal one for that mater.

I'm with Principle Insurance on my MK2 16vG60, they seemed quite keen on the pricing and renewal was OK.

From what I've read if it's heavily modified you can't insure it as a "classic" but may have the wrong end of the stick..
