It's not that fast however i'm imressed with what you get for your money. i'm thinking of getting one or a 1.8t anni. Is the polo gti a girls car? Bear in mind the price difference is 8-10 grand. Thoughts please.
Was thinking of getting one for the wife a few months back. Took one out for a test drive and to be honest i was really disappointed by its performance - just seemed really gutless even when revved. Like you i was really impresed by all the standard kit you get on it and i think they are very good looking. It didn't feel as though it had 125bhp though. Considering that the same engine is fitted to the Lupo gti and that's had really good reviews, i would have thought that it would be slightly more sporty. Matt
I think it's weight lets it down badly. Just buy Josh's one off that site posted there, he's fitted NOS to his & it's for sale.
Floaty, I am going to test drive one on tuesday! having a clear out of my cars, Mk4 20VT and the G40 are going and getting myself one newish, relativley quick car! I really like the look of the Polo GTI, but everyone says the Lupo is miles better to drive! Will see on tuesday! Alan
Sure is Bruce! Can count the number of times I've driven it on one hand so far this year, done 400 miles if lucky! Will say no more on here though, cos them mods will lock floaty's thread! Alan
