I’m sure it’s something to do with the air con but thought I’d ask here for advice. I think the leak itself is coming from a grommet on the bulkhead (see picture).

Yes, condensation from the evaporator drains out through that special grommet. A tube (visible if you lift the flap) from the heater casing channels it out to exit like that. So long as it is just water, rather than coolant from the heater matrix, not a concern.

Brilliant Dougie, thanks for the quick reply. 99% certain it’s just water so I’ll keep an eye on it.

    cheers

Is your gear lever really sloppy? Looks like you are missing the outer soft plastic ball from the gear selector relay shaft on the left of the first photo.

Yes, very long throw between changes! It’s goes into gear ok but definitely doesn’t feel like a short shift.

what’s the part I need and I’ll try and get one.

    Thanks for the tip

That's it, Paul. Yours has lost the outer 'soft' part, leaving only the core of it.

I hadn't noticed that, but now it's been mentioned, the 2 litre engine (and others) often has/have a metal heat shield clipped onto the 'U' bracket to protect the ball from the heat of the exhaust. It has a locating hole, to fit over the ball joint before the linkage rod is attached, and a clip to hold to one edge of the U bracket.
