Just curious, would a longitudinal sump and pickup pipe from something like an AEB fit on to a transverse engine such as an AGU? Cheers
From my brief dealings, putting a 20v into an Audi 80. The sump on the AEB looked the same. But I wouldn’t trust that
Yeah I have no reason to think why it wouldn't fit, should be same bolt pattern but just a different shape for subframe clearance? Pickup pipe I am not so sure on though....
Are there baffles in the sump? And wouldn't they be 90 degrees opposing? That's why have to change sump on ford zetec rwd conversion, and possibly crossmember clearance I believe.
Done some more reading, AEB = 058 block, AGU = 06A block, therefore the sumps can not be swapped. So will any longitudinal 06A sump and oil pickup pipe fit to an AGU block?
Think theres a bit about it in my past reading, to do with 1.8t into Porsche boxster, they use audi style gearbox/ transaxle iirc, and longitudinal. May be worth a search.
