Ok, I have done a lot to my car since my last update.
The mapping didn't go well, I wasn't impressed at all. I have herd good things about the company but they clearly didn't have much knowledge on forced induction.

The car wasn't running right so I decided to live map the car myself. With a lot of help from Russ (Tshirt2K) and my mate we managed to get a great map for the car.

It's mapped with 1 bar of boost and it is bloody quick, stupidly quick. I still haven't had chance to get a power run on it so I have no idea what it's running.

Gti international was great fun, I was happy with the way the car was running accept the lack of traction I had. My fastest time was 14.2.

Traction was an issue so I bought new tyres with no stretch and it was wide, so wide that I needed to mod the arches.
I have replaced the rear brakes with polo and mk4 setup and a mk3 vr beam with poly bush and a bias lever.

I finished the front arches and started on the rears, this escalated into fully stripping the car down and re spraying the whole thing. Which basically brings us up to date. I'm currently prepping the car for spraying.
I have done a few little things to the car but I'll let the photos do the talking.

I know he's no longer on this forum anymore, but I want to say a huge thanks to Russ. He has been an amazing help and i am very great full for everything he has done for me. Top bloke!
Big thanks to my mate Charlie as well for all the hours and effort he put in to this build with me.

    Cheers
    Alex

Good to see you posting on here and also mega picture update!

This is the great thing about Megasquirt systems. Once you are willing to get stuck in, eventually you can deliver your own calibration. Plus with several like minded people trained now trained up on VWs, you are not short on assistance these days. I am glad tshirt2k was able to assist and you are now satisfied with the progress made.

    What sort of terminal speed?

Look forward to the final effort. You need to get it out on track now.

Rightly or wrongly, tshirt2k chose to no longer positively contribute to the Club or login to this forum. That is his call.
That aside he was quite meticulous with respect to development of his own build was a quick learner and I am glad you have benefited from his input.

Many thanks again for the update. With this knowledge on how to fit and calibrate Meqasquirts, you can be the new expert down in Dorset!

I still don't see how you all think it looks like a dildo?

More like a phallic symbol, standing there proud and erect and easily to hand.

    My terminal speed was 103mph

Yes I am pushing forward to get it on the track as soon as possible. I do miss driving it already!

I do not wish to start an online argument about who is right or wrong and so on. But I think it is wrong to say Tshirt2K no longer positively contributed to the forum.

I am in no way an expert, I am still learning a lot. And with out Tshirt2K help I don't think the car would be running like it is now.

    Thank you for your reply

    Alex

That surge of torque along with the woosh noises is pretty additive which makes you just want to go out a spend to get it back on the road. Look forward to reading more about it.

You never stop learning in this field. I am impressed with how far the car has come since I first visited, years ago when it was NASP and your ability to plan, resource and execute modifications successfully.

Been a while i know! The last 12 months have been crazy.
Ill find some time to do a little up date on everything.

Car is running well i have tracked a couple times now and i am very pleased. Its currently back in my garage, i am widetracking and polybushing the front, new engine mounts, new suspension, new wheels and general maintenance on the engine.

    Cheers
    Alex

I know, I have been really busy with other things so haven’t had much time for anything else.
