I used my 16v engine road/track from 2002-2006 without a baffled sump, only problem I had was at Mallory running slicks the big ends gave an almighty death rattle going through Gerrads (long fast corner, constant radius)

Had a Schrick sump on the 16v that lasted 2 weeks, proper bit of kit - Sambo bought it off me I think? Got a baffled steel sump on the VR6 from C2 motorsports, laser cut steel baffles, with one to reduce oil surge going up into the crankcase under hard braking.

This is a rough copy of the schrick baffle design, its been in my shed for a while so will get cleaned up and fitted to swerve's Monza blue track car in the next few weeks. Cardboard templates were made from my schrick sump.

It was given a light coat to protect the metal while in the shed, it will be stripped before fitting
