Making a baffled sump.

    Tony, Thanks for showing that.

    Couple of questions: When you say "Drill out the threaded holes in the alloy seal plates..." are you speaking about the crank seal assembly?

    Also, I notice that you aren't using hinges, just bent flaps. I suppose that not having moving parts is a good thing, but I have only seen hinged flaps. Is there some dimension that you shoot for with the clear area under the bend? It looks to be not much more than about 12mm. Too large, and you don't restrain the oil, and too small and rapid unplanned disassembly. Just hoping for details on your experience so I don't do anything stupid.

    The disadvantage is the oil pump has to be removed to replace the gasket. Somehow I've already changed the gasket twice and when I want to remove the sump again the best would be to change... again :S
