saturday or sunday at the weekend saw a very tidy mk1 golf in silver with gold wheels, had a rear shunt from a chavvy red corsa at JCT 13 of m6 near to Barthomley, Cheshire [:^(] . Any one off here?

There was a very tidy silver Mk1 with rear end damage at All Types.

Apparently happened on the way there on the Saturday afternoon.

Must be the same one. Damn shame too...

    That`s the one...

We had a good look at it, and luckily it appears both rear quarters are untouched, so (dependin on how the floor is) it `only` needs a back panel, tailgate, and bumper.

TBQFH I`d have to be restrained if someone did this to my car. I`d want blood...lots of it...

I had a similar accident in my mk1, prob some photos on here somewhere, lucky I managed to convince the guy's company (who went into the back of me) that I'd be happy to settle out of insurance, for two obvious reasons...one so it wouldn't be written off! Was not quite as bad as that tho.

Sickening isn't it, hope he gets it sorted.

Yes, that`s why I wrote `only` in inverted commas... ;)

Saying that, they aren`t impossible to get...better than being written off...

They do still make them, in South Africa...

You can get the SA type panels here:
    http://www.golfmk1.co.uk/Items.php?cat=ALL&group=VWPANELS

I have a SA one fitted to mine & the only difference is no number plate holes which is not a bad thing.

Mine (bought off a forum member ages ago):

Hes on edition 38, got a thread in the mk1 forum about it. He's got a back panel from germany already.
