Anybody got a mk1 shell on a nicely balanced spit could give me a measurement for the pivot point?

This will save me some time and steel making something adjustable.

ie is it close to the middle of the back panel ? (between the centerline of the rear lights?) or where?

    Thanks
    Jon

I made one, spun quite nice, perhaps a little bottom heavy. But I could still easily rotate it on my own. I'm going to say for a bare shell it's close to the headlight centres. I'll check when I get home.

Thanks, ideally I was after the neutral level, safest by far...
But if you have a measurement, great..

Sent pics to you on Facebook messenger.
I made a simple frame from 60mm angle, bolting straight into the bumper bracket mounts, and my rotation was 7 inches up from there. So you should be safe enough at 5-6 inches.
I actually preferred it to be slightly bottom heavy, as it meant it would sit floor down without locking.

See pics. spit complete. Anybody else going there on this, with a full weld in cage the centerlines abang on the centre of the front and rear lights. I made mine the safe way (c og g below pivot initially) and move it down in 2" chunks (re-drill) until I found the balance point.

    My guesstimate wasn't bad so!
