I'm lucky enough to have found a minted Mk1 Jetta with only 44000mls on it. Been stored for over a decade so some perished items to see to but it's generally a cracking car. As I'm a Mk2 Golf man I really know nothing about them. All I want to do is put a set of coilovers on it and a good service. So, are service items the same as a Mk1 Golf, will mk1 golf coilovers fit etc. etc. What parts are the same? Thanks in advance.
basically everything is mk1 golf, except for the parts which are obviously different like the front end, boot, rear screen etc and I think the rear seat is too. so yeah all the oily bits you're after = mk1 golf
Happy days. Car got delivered today. Needs a good clean inside and out and some paint touch ups. No hurry though, will do it over time.
Here's a few pics of it. There was loads of junk in the boot so I cleared it all out and was presented with this, clean as a whistle.Got some AP's on order and bought a set of gold RM's for it. Got all the service parts from GSF on 43% discount so a good saving.
