    Hi,
The radiator on my Mk1 seems to be located on the bottom by two cone shaped pins that fit into holes
The only other fixing is a 'U' shaped part top centre which prevents the radiator moving forward or back.
There are no other fixings and the radiator can move up and down.
    Surely this cannot be correct.

    Are there securing parts missing?

    Thanks to all who assist.

Big block car? all Mine have metal straps on the top of the rad, that bolt to the front panel.

sounds like you have an earlier MK1, later ones use L shaped brackets pushed into slots in the top of the rad similar to mk2 golf

    Thank you for that.
The radiator on my Golf was replaced and the
one that is now fitted has two slots on the top at each end
There are threaded holes opposite so I may well get the two
brackets and make the radiator a bit more secure
