    Yep, that's what's called *mapping* Riley :)

You're basically altering the ignition/fuelling parameters at certain load and speed 'sites' with a lap top plugged into the serial port.

Just looked in haynes, should have 18 deg adv due to engine speed and 20 degrees adv attributable to engine vacuum, both at 4600rpm, so that`s 38 degrees advance with both working properly, 5 to 7 degrees adv at idle.

thanks guys kieth sounds spot on mate as mines set to 32 degrees allt he time now question is it

a)safer to leave it at 32 degress all the time

b)leave it at 7 degrees all the time

c)fit ecu so it advances but not properly due to only one vacum feed

d)yes i kno management the right thing but bloody costly

riley that would be realy helpfull thanks mate

just need to chuck a gun on it at aporx 4500rpm and 1000 rpm

Msad Man, if it`s not pinking at low revs I`d leave it alone although I don`t know how the lower advances would affect the engine responce?

If you do feed the vacuum to the ecu you`ll have to retard the ig timing by the 20 degrees. I would have thought it may be set up to overfuel at low revs to minimise the pinking?
