Anybody have any comments about the potential aero benefits of this kit? Nigel has made some really effective mods to his mk2 and I am looking to 'copy' (or equivalent) the obvious benefits onto my mk2 tarmac rally car. Comments welcomed Jon https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volkswag...526810?hash=item2f49608b5a:g:UE4AAOSwJMxfThhH
Have you perused Simon McBeaths book on Aerodynamics? Good read, a lot of open wheel stuff but still a fair bit of TinTop action. And hard data for stuff like flat floors, rear wings, splitters etc. I hope to implement some of it on my own mk2. From reading it a few times, I think you'd probably make up something as cheap. ie ply front splitter, bit of nose down rake, panel in as much of the floor as possible etc. FYI, either a Saxo or 106 rear wing fits quite well onto a mk2 rear hatch, I scored a c/f one from a rallying mate. Longer than the VW, should clean up the rear aero. I'll send you pics next time I'm in the shed.
Yes, bought it when it first came out. Need to dig it out and re read it, great stuff. Agree, a 'start from scratch' evo approach would be one way to achieve aero. Was wondering whether an off the peg way may get me started easier, quicker and more crashable.. Jon
