Mk2 Boot Release Bodge Job

    Hi All,

    At some point someone has 'fixed' the boot release with a strange cable loop thing:

    I've attempted moving the cable over the lever in different ways and can't even see how this thing was ever functioning.

    From the Haynes it looks like this should be a little metal bar/arm. Can anyone help me find a replacement for this?

    image proxy playing silly buggers again! so you need rod part number 191827515, I can see the plastic clip on the lock button is still there so thats all good

    Aye, I've had trouble with the pics - apparently when I've got 10 posts it gets easier!

    Thanks Jonny - can I still rock up to a VW garage for odd mk2 parts then?

    yeah there are still a fair few MK2 parts avaialble at the dealers, just dont expect cheap G60 arches like you could buy 20 years back :lol:

    Bizarrely, I've got a set of unused G60 arches that I need to sell. What are they going for these days?

    pretty much name your price these days, £50 each and up depending on condition. rears are more valuable since many people back in the day only did the front ones :lol:
