this is a pic of the original PAS pump

and the same pump with all new internals and a lick of paint. powdercoated pulley and fitted with stainless steel allen headed bolts.

This is the ABS pump unit, the whole of the pump and servo unit was in this condition.

yeah i finished the driver, drove it for three months then broke it to sell the parts, realised it wasn't what i wanted at all, fun while it lasted though.

Ooh, any more information about repairing the heat shields please? What's the tape that you used?

I've never ever heard of anyone powder coat heat shields. Will the powder coating survive the heat and flexing?

I had the panels sandblasted on the seen surface, then powdercoated in bright silver, i used normal loft insulation but trimmed down in fatness and size. i then used heat duct tape to seal new heat reflective sheets on top of the insulation.

not sure if the powdercoat will hold up but i'm gonna use it on the block aswell, seems to deal with flexing ok, seen it on ARB's and rear beams.

cheers guys, if you think the living room is bad, my spare bedroom is even worse.

For those that enjoyed the living/parts room pics

I'm also rebuilding the rear beam in the living room 8)

put refurbed ABS ring onto the disc along woth new bearings

Bolted the new stub axle to the beam with new bolts and washers, New splash sheilds, new metal ring, cleaned ABS gutters, new ABS sensor wires.

Then bolted it all up with refurb'd caliper carriers and new bolts.

Bought a load of new parts from VW......again, but the most interesting part was this.

    BRAND NEW CHROME REAR BADGE
