    hello all

I need some help with a mk2 golf central locking system (air type)

I need to know how the air pipes run down the car from the drivers door.

    Any diagrams?

    thanks :)

got you! Thanks for that guys.

I did look at that diagram at first and it looks as if their are vacume pipes which confused me.

Just need the drivers door master actuator thingy then

Just bought my latest Mk2 and the C/L isn't working. Discovered that the driver's side actuator was disconnected. When plugs in all the others work but not sure how to connect the metal rods from the actuator to the key and pin locks????

The actuator has two rods coming from it which are connected by a metal block(???). Am I missing a bit of plastic?

    Any help would be appreciated.

I've managed to work out, i think, how to connect the rod and everything works BUT.......

when I put everything back in place, the plastic connector that links the pull up pin rod, actuator rod and lock mechanism, slips off the lock.

This means I can unlock the car with a key but have to pull the pin up manually to unlock all the other doors, boot and petrol flap.

Super glue or have I done something, most likely, wrong?

you need to take the lock block off the end of the door then push the white lever thru the hole in the door, fit to lock block, then bolt it back up. the base of the lever is flanged and needs to sit outside of the door skin to stop it fallign off

one thing that can happen is the retainer(s) snaps off which stops the rods falling out of the lever. its a little tricky hooking it all back together as well as you need to put the door pin rod on before you refit the lever otherwise you cant push it thru the hole in the top of the door. With the cl rod you can do it after the lever is fitted, just need to take the vacuum unit off the door then fit the rod to the finger then refit the vacuum actuator
