    Hi,

I own a 8v gti, one of my drop links is a meyle m8 and the other fitted by a garage is a larger diameter thread I think m10 - unknown source. This was replaced because the m8 one snapped through normal use.

Could some tell me who sells the larger dia thread arb drop link (and yes I know the g60 one is not compatible).

Part No is: 191411315B (I understand fits all mk2's bar G60)

I understand both Febi and Meyle part is the smaller M8

    Cheers

    Joe

even the genuine VW ones are M8 now, a freind of mine managed to source the chunky ones aftermarket will see if he can remember. otherwise raid mk3 golf 4 stud in scrappy, 3.5 cabrio will be latest type with the mk2 style though not sure when the m8 switch cable in. look at caddy vans and ibiza/toledo/.cordoba plus polo saloon and estate as well. assuming your local is even open...

I think one of the cheaper brands at euro car parts were the larger thread diameter:- Q drive, Ocap or Starline I dont know what the quality is like though

I've used m8 ones, even on track, with no issues.

Same car, I did 10k road miles in! I promise you there's worse potholes around me :thumbd:

Maybe just try a different brand, like Lemforder or TRW.

I’ve also never snapped an M8 one. Driven thousands of miles on and off track

yes quality will make a difference for sure, VW dont have an issue with it as I say they only do M8 versions. I used febi on my mk2 and stripped the nut just trying to tighten it

just got a reply from my mate, the M12 ones he got came from hans preis/topran ones, but beware the quality/source of parts from these suppliers can change as they're only wholesalers who buy in their stuff from different manufacturers

Came across this thread on my travels looking up suspension part numbers/brands.

GSP seem to have an M12 version:
