Long time lurker on here! I signed up in 2008 when I purchased this:

I also run the SEAT Leon Owners Club (leonoc.com and Leon Onwers Club on FB,Twitter,Instagram etc) so have a history of a few SEAT's

    2. 2008 SEAT Leon FR TDI PD170 - Stage2+ tuned (approx 240bhp)
    3. 2010 SEAT Leon Cupra R - Stage2+ tuned (approx 370bhp)
    4 Current car - 2014 SEAT Leon Cupra 280 - Stage2 (approx 390bhp)

But a few months ago I decided I had an itch for a MK2 Golf again, Always wanted a Diesel MK2 or MK1 so I purchased one!

The original build thread can be found here http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=429465?st=0

Was looking a little sorry for itself when I purchased it

    Started with the easy things:

    old wiring room removed
    [IMG]
Battery tray doesn't look that bad
    [IMG]
Lights working how they should now! Still want the bulbs to be a lot whiter.

Think it needs a new one of these!

So we managed to get the old rear coilovers off

Had issues with the fronts just spinning when undoing them, tried the molegrip approach but that didn't work either :(

New coilovers are on, will let them settle for a few weeks then adjust them slightly.

Also took the opportunity to fit this

OMP rear strut brace I got off eBay, Unfortunately its faded, the OMP sticker was off centre as well so I removed it, will try to polish it back to red in a few days.

EBC discs and Greenstuff pads all around, a few more bits of maintenance underneath. Also fitted some smoked indicators I won on eBay for 99p, not 100% sure on them but the OEM were broken so kept falling out.

Finally got somebody to look at the wiring! quite a few dodgy bits of wiring.

Turns out there was no feed to the battery light on dashboard, car was in generator mode constantly because the wiring had snapped off so the battery wasn't charging.

    car now idles normally.

Due to the old owner fitting some rather nice Recaro Editon One heated seats and then selling them before the Golf was sold the golf had a really low spec interior fitted to it, I managed to track down some 1990 spec GTI seats local to me for cheap. The drivers one has the usual wear on it but its 100 better looking than the lower spec interior.

Just need to track down the matching door cards now and a replacement cover for the drivers seat.
