loads of 10mm and 5mm, a few meters of 3mm. this wire loom has cost me a small fortune in replacement wires, terminals and braiding

haha the sad part of that is that most of it will be tucked away behind pannels / chassis legs etc...

but i'll sleep well knowing it was done properly..

then when the engine dies, it'll get a nice TFSI unit

    eat..sleep..loom..repeat

i don't think it would be too much work to change to a BAM or similar unit, so that would probably be the way to go.

the k03s and map on this sounding pretty nice though

Just updating my Jobs to do:
    • Extend the loom for the ignition amplifier
    • Run the battery cable and identify the place to secure the junction box and Battery
    • Install the engine for final loom position testing
    • Power it all up and check for wiring errors
    • braid the wires to protect them where possible
    • make new routing for wires
    • Install the dashboard
    • Secure all the cables in place
    • Fill with fluids (oil, coolant)
    • Run the engine, inspect and check for codes
    • Re-install the remaining interior
    • Re-install the remaining engine bay components
    • Buy and install a new front window
    • install dash loom
    • Make a new loom for the guages so that the lights come on when sidelights are turned on but the guages power up from ignition live. They are all on Ignition live at the moment
    • set up VCDS for logging
    • install n/s driveshaft
    • Install o/s driveshaft

I took the N/S wing off to see how i could do some routing of the lighting loom and i'm thinking about how i can freahen up the arches / protect them some more.

I was thinking about using some UPOL Raptor in Black on the back of the wings, in the arches themselfs and on the parts of the chassis legs that dont see the light of day.

It would freshen it all up in there a little..but i probably could not paint over the current sealant in the arches.

You could easily cut a hole in the side of the cabin and have the headlight loom run out from the fusebox and forward inside the wing. Would you want to cut a hole in the cabin though ?!

i'll probably go down the original route of going through the chassis leg, the hole is already made for that and the Engine ECU loom goes through there
