    Hello again all.
    Instagram @syncroMk2

Well I couldn't find anything to scratch the itch, so i've got another Golf. This one will be a very long term project and it'll be staying at my dad's house 120 miles away until done

So the plan is to go full resto on it, with help from dad, and do it all ourselves. Paint, repairs, everything! It should be fun. I'm looking forward to it.And a slight change in plans means it's now going AWD.

But knowing that i'm going to be under it a lot and dad will also be under his we've started to build a roll over jig. We started yesterday. Here's what we have got so far.

And i bought parts already.. These won't even see a car for the next year at least!! A tidy parcel shelf and a set of supports, for a whopping £30!

Now we need to build the roll over part. It's going to height adjustable, and width adjustable so it'll fit most cars.

Haha, I’ve got some paper drawings but I’ll try and get it on CAD over the weekend for you :)

Half day Friday and some free time, I thought i'd have a go. This is a new CAD package I need to learn, so it's nice and easy to start with.

I do have the CAD drawings for you all, although they're on my work laptop. So i'll pull them off soon.

But we've made some more progress. We had a spare pair of sub axles laying around and for ease of building, they spin really well. So here is where we stand.

And it's standing on it's own.

    IT FITS!

Until you try and close the garage door.

I pick my Golf up this weekend, some pictures soon!

Well... slight plan change, I’m having my dads D Reg 16v GTi shell. And I’m turning it 4WD. It’ll probably have an ABF in it whilst I gather funds to build a proper engine.

I’ve just put a deposit down on a full syncro running gear, so that’ll be going in it.

now if anyone has a Syncro boot pan, fuel tank and tunnel, that would be great! If not, I’ll make it, somehow!

Well absolutely no progress from myself but dad has done a couple of bits for me.

Theres 3 bits of rust.. 2 bits on the drivers sill and this.

    This is how currently sits

It was the first day i've actually see one at this angle so it gives a much better idea of where i'll have to cut and space i've got to work with.

With train prices going up again it's now cheaper to get a car.. So £530 later..

I had a big dent in the bumper, nothing a heat gun won't sort.

    Tadaaa

There’s going to be a lot of pictures, mainly of shell condition so I’ll pop on as an attachment and then I’ll pop the interesting ones into the post.

We started off with a clean, some road traffic remover, concentrated. This stuff is amazing!!

    Before:

    After:

A few Poundland brushes later and this was achieved.

Then I moved onto the dash and complete loom removal.

It had a bodged Clifford alarm fitted which made things fun!

    Then the fun started!!

    then a thing happened...
