Well, today was productive. I got the boot floor fully welded in. Quite happy with the results. Then moved onto my most dreaded task. Driveshafts. This isn’t the final go but I’ve got the correct length now. Bingo! Theyre in! And fitted my new wheels so they left my dining room.
Yep. Got the next two weeks of Fridays to really get some bits done, I’m looking forward to it. I’m happy the shafts are to length, that was my biggest fear so to speak
Looking good man, whats the scoop with the shafts, do you mock them up to get the correct length then get some made up from somewhere?
Yeah, I’ve ordered some pipe to make these a bit more permanent for testing purposes. But that’s the plan, get them sent to be made properly.
Just getting a bit fed up with it now, I’ve not even seen it since last week but I just want it finished and I don’t want to finish it.
I bet but If it was easy mate everyone would do it. Your not that far away. Look at mine that will make you feel better
Nothing major, but I’ve decided on my battery so I built a holder for it at work today. then marky marky then pressy pressy And I forgot bendy bendy, but tadaaa
Indeed, it’s rather handy. And to have people who have 40 years of sheet metal work around is handy too. We’ve got all sorts of tools for the fly press. I didn’t even realise, I’m going to have loads of fun
Not even got a sprayshop where I work now, and not much wood in the golf, so a bit stumped for 'foreign' jobs. At my old works I managed to sort sideskirts, bumpers, wings etc for my cars between spraying windows. Did convince them to get a pillar drill, then used it to modify a flywheel.
All this seems to consist of is, cutty cutty, weldy weldy. Something a bit more permanent for rolling around and testing I was wondering why my finger was getting a bit hot
Painted to prevent rust, CV’s cleaned although I’m not using these ones and back on. my battery holder doesn’t fit where planned I never actually measured where I wanted it. Here but too close to the exhaust for my liking maybe in the boot after all And now the fun stuff.. Not so bad.. Hmmm...
