I think the the TT bush's would fit but you would have a bit sticking out ever side You can still get wishbones from vw the one on the right in the picture I posted Is a new genuine vw wishbone it came fitted with bush's that I removed to fit the powerflex bush's as you can see they fit fine
just a quick note , changing L C A s to another type , or make, it is imperative to ensure they are the same length ( across the track direction ) . if they differ this will damage the drive shafts as the left to right float may be restricted and cause damage to the CV cages ??
Hi folks. I have spent literally hours, if not days, nay, weeks, etc., etc., etc., looking for aftermarket wishbones that are exactly as the OE ones. Every bone that I have found, from such, so called, reliable suppliers as: GKN, SKF, Febi, Meyle, etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etcetera, are identical to each other. I.E. Crap. Check out the Chinese or Indian purveyors web sites and you will find that they are all offering the same crap. They will sell them to you for as little as Euro 3 each. Check out every aftermarket supplier and you will see the same rubbish offered.
Just thought. Are Meyle, Febi, etc., as based German suppliers, allowed to sell the same stuff in Germany? I am pretty sure, but may be wrong, that without TUV approval spares like this cannot be sold in Germany? I am pretty sure, but may be wrong again, but don't Bilstien Shockers (Febi) state TUV approval in the brouchures?
looks like Quinton Hazell have what you want: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Querlenker-V...at-VW-Golf-II-Polo-NEU-QSA1446S-/121602645028 http://www.ebay.de/itm/QUERLENKER-S...FHaNGUNG-SCHNELLVERSAND-GuNSTIG-/400892206700 the pattern ones you have are copied from the newer VW design for the Ibiza/Polo Classic chassis, as Mushy said these are all that VW sell these days. you can tell from the extra 3 holes you noted, which are for the plastic brake air ducts fitted to heavier chassis cars that are fitted with 239mm brakes I've found a lemforder one on ECP, but you may not actually get a lemforder made one if you order from them, they often like to send you qdrive made ones which are 'equivalent quality' http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331250682356
Thank you John. I was completely unaware that later cars used that design for rear bush support. I believe it is not as strong nor support the bush as well as the old design. Regarding the Lemforder one on ebay. Don't believe all you see. I believe that the photo is from an old source. If you look in the latest Lemforder catalogues the images are of the different design. As I said in post #1, the Febi suppliers were using an old photo. Regarding Quinton Hazell I have tried to access the web cat to check that these are still in production but it is restricted to businesses only. I have just replied to an email from the UK aftermarket sales manager and told him what I need access for. Lets see where we go.
Ta so beetie. Check out the first few posts. If it looks like the febi one there is no need to photo.
I can post more pictures of the new vw one I got from vw about 8 years back It looks better than the ones you posted I only posted a picture of one side last time The other side has the rib right to the bush boss
as said above i got this from TPS ie vw trade parts about 8 years back when i replaced both on my 87 gti the other one was from a 86 gti
Justin. Your photos appear to support what John said. i.e. VW have changed everything to that design. Thanks. Beetie. Your photos look spot on. I'll go back over the stuff I got from Lemforder again. I may try to contact them. Thanks. I am still awaiting a response from QH.
aye Dave vw and SEAT use that wishbone from 1984 right up to 2003 the mk3 air guid fits the fhe three holes p/n 1H0615447 01C the one in the picture i posted above is from a vauxhall looks very interesting wonder if they can be made to fit
Found out quite a bit more info which I believe might make it a lot clearer. Lots of images to sort out so it will be a few days away.
my old 6N 1.4cl polo had those cooling air guides on them for the brakes (239 vented) thought it was a bit overkill on a 60bhp polo mind you
I got a set of lemforder ones today out of euro. Look the Same as the vw ones in very first pic. Didn't come with the extra 3 holes for brake ducts and even the bushes have vw part numbers stamped on them. Rear bush has a 191 part number and front bush a 357 part number
Interesting, because when I eventually post my thoughts, Lemforder are referred to, as I found different photos for these wishbones on their E-Cat. I also have the 2005 CD ZF 'InCat' CD which only shows the later 3 hole design. What was the Euro Car Parts part number? Is there a Lemforder part number on them? I am awaiting some wishbones from Germany before I write up my conclusions. I added 'Maybe Not' to the title recently as I have come to the conclusion that it is not all rubbish.
