No difference in pad, caliper or carrier between anything mk3 and mk4 platform, using 288s. The only difference is in the disc - if you want to fit Mk4 288's or 312's you need a 6mm spacer between the carrier and hub, but if you stick with the mk3 288mm disc then it all bolts on with no problems. if youre putting it on the mk2, is the mk2 5 stud wide track etc?
Actually onto my Corrado , but a mate wants to fit them to a mk2 as well . I know the 288 caliper's pads overhang the disc a little , but I have found aftermarket 280 discs (G60 , 4 stud fitment) that are actually just over 280 , and the pads only barely over hang . I can live with trimming them every service.
I've been looking for a set for ages , then 2 sets land to my PM box the same week! Mk3 , and mk4 . Any advantage of one over the other? I might even throw a pair onto my van , to help it stop , it needs new brakes anyway . sorry for sounding thick now , but just to be sure , either the mk4 caliper/carrier combo or the mk3 caliper/carrier combo , will both bolt onto my 16v Corrado or a mk2 GTI , with a G60 or mk3 288 disc? And it's only if I want to use mk4 discs I need a spacer? Thanks for your patience.
thread revival! Sold the Corrado , the 280s wouldn't fit under the van's 14s , but have to upgrade Herself's mk2 thats on 239s. I have Ibiza hubs for it (same as mk2 16v AFAIK) and a cheap set of mk4 288s . Using a G60 disc , all should be ok?
