    Hello,
I have a MK4 GTI Golf (AUM engine code) and I need to replace the cam cover gasket and Ive been quoted over 100+ cost of gasket (36)to do the job so Im looking at doing the job myself!
Can anyone offer some advice if familiar with the task.
I have always done my own cam gasket replacements on my MK2 Golf but I understand its a bit more involved on the MK4. For a start, the actual gasket kit has more parts (separate spark plug seals etc). Mine is leaking on a couple of the plugs and usual place, down the rear of the engine, so its time to replace it.
If anyone can offer me some guidelines, Id be really grateful.

    Thanks, J

Its as simple as a mk2 cam cover tbh. Remember liquid gasket for the half moons and humps and 10nm for the little nuts, consider the chain tensioner gaskets too, plus the guy with the annoying voice in the vid appeared to need a new filler cap as that looked leaky too
