    I take it you've finished your waffling? :p ;)

Does 425 for a '97 AFH with 48k on the clock sound about right?

    Cheers :)

Wel bearing in mind that i can pick up a 98 2litre 8v whole engine with about 60K on the clock for less than that i would say its way over priced.

im presuming thats the 1.416v polo engine?

arent venom still selling their 1.4 16v unit out of their 1.8t lupo? sure its still for sale...

    venom

they are selling theirs for 350 with gearbox.....

    MK 1 driver,
the boys saying you need a bigger engine have a good point, because golfs are well engineered (heavy). if you like small revy lumps, you may have a lot more fun in lighter car like a fiat/alfa, or a motor bike.

do you know the full spec on it Bill?
is he running one of the newer VVT 16v engines,
or did he change the internals of his AFH?

cheers Bill - I know you're not on here that much and I know Prof likes to talk anyway ;) :p

some of my mates from home saw you at Cadwell (only 5-6 miles away) and were impressed. are you upgrading the internals at all?

    Well

Whitie is building a 1.7 16v one on throttle bodies

and i have now a 1.6 afh running in my car, destined for bike throttle bodies later in the summer

both of these however are in the more attractive shell ;) of a mk4 polo
