Thanks chaps/chapettes! Never been into the whole styling side of things tbh. Always loved the original shape/style of mk2s so as long as its clean and tidy, its good for me :) Just looking to get it on the track now.

Thats a cracking car mate. 4-doors isn't my weapon of choice, but yours is an absolute belter.

That really sums it up - I bet it goes like stink and handles brilliantly too.

    Quite jealous actually. [:^(]

    Cheers fella . . . 4 doors rule

After waiting for over 3 weeks i finally recieved my track rod ends from CompBrake. Tried to fit them this evening but they're too blimmin long. Their web site says they're a diret replacement so i'm either having a complete school boy or they're the wrong ones [:x] I'll be giving them a bell tomorrow.

Spoke to the tech guy at compbrake and he said its fine to shorten the rose jointed part of the track rod end for the amount that needed to come off. They were supposed to be a direct replacement according to the website but out came the hack saw.

Really happy with the result. With the car on the ground the wishbone, driveshaft and track rod are completely horizontal and symetrical [:D]

    Looking good.
Did you have to drill the hubs to fit the Comp Brake tie rods, or did they just bolt straight on?

Got to get the tracking sorted before i can drive it properly again. Took it to the end of my road and it was steering all over the place. Anyone got any tips on how to get the track more or less right?

The taper needed drilling out, think i used a 12.5mm bit and it went in nice and snug.

    :)

The ball joint extenders were through this group buy. PM 'mk1g60turbo' and he may be able to help you out.

Time for a wee update. Got a Schrick sump for xmas so after finding some one to weld the oil return on i finally got round to fitting it.

Thanks, its only a bit of flexi hose that comes down and returns to the sump so i just got a new length of hose, joined it back up and wacked a jubilee clip round it.
