Weird Issue... Got an oil change two weeks ago and no it just randomly starts beeping. I grounded the high oil pressure sensor and it didnt go off. I put in 20w40 and a new filter. Sometimes if i hit a small bump or just drive it randomly goes away. ive got a 89 jetta.
if earthing out the yellow wire stops the beeping then this points to low pressure issue or a bad switch. did you leave it earthed for a good while on a test run though, as your issue seems intermittent if it stops when you hit a bump to be safe get an oil pressure check done, you should see about 1bar at idle when warmed up, and when revved around 2-3k (1.8bar is lower limit for oil warnign at revs)
