Paint Code/Colour MK2 Golf 1990

    Hi guys and girls



    1st post here so be gentle :)



    i have a silver mk2 golf that has some rust in places that i want to
    take care of asap and also spray my mirror backs in the same colour,
    just to make it look a bit more up to date and cleaner



    its a silver colour, and theres tons of silvers about for vw's i have found!



    where can i find the colour code? ive looked under the bonnet where the vin is and no joy unless im totally missing it



    heres a pic of my cars rear, see if ne one can tell me what colour it is purely from a pic!



    any help appreciated

    in side the boot there should be a sticker, paint code will be on it. shoudl also bein the service hostory book, if you have it.

    just on the back side and left a bit of the rear VW emblem

    i would guess LP7V Diamond silver... or the one a bit darker than that :p

    can i interest you in some diamond silver big bumpers, colour coded number plate plinth and spoiler? ;)

    - or perhaps a silver debadged jetta front? (see sig)

    thought id look around the site more and guess what



    found the bugger haha!



    a guy with a 5 door version of my car had the code in the paint codes thread



    looked in teh handbook i have here for my car and ive got it! :) didnt know what i was looking for at first but i have it now :)



    its LD7V Silver Grey Metallic! although its nothing like metallic haha!



    question now is where do i get it from! an aerosol can of it is preffered

    Hi sean u can get aerosol from dealers.ive got an 8v same colour and the dealers charged about 9 quid per tin.u also get a tin of clear varnish with it.hope this helps.

    you love the silver colour? eeek i bloody hate it think i only hate it
    though because some old codger decided to repair it himself and never
    laquered it and some little buggers have put absoloutly massive
    scratches on my roof :( very deep and very long

    My golf is that colour. Looks very nive when clean, but god awfull when dirty :lol:

    CLEAN silver mk2s look fab. particularly on ronal turbos.

    I had the same problem and this thread solved it, I also had the exact same paint code found, yes you guessed it, in the boot to the left of the VW badge!!!!
