Hi guys I'm searching for Oversize PB Engine pistons for a MK2 restoration I'm currently doing.

    Any leads will be appreciated.

I remember looking for them and it was easier to buy forged ones!

Are you by some miracle based in N. Ireland?

A place in Ballymena, Co. Antrim put a 0.5mm over sized set in my PB (not forged) at the start of the year.

They sourced them, so can't help you on that score myself.

They're hard to get in touch with, don't believe in phones, but could pass on their number if you want to try and is useful to you?

As luck would have it I'd previously arranged to take the MK1's block down to him later this week.

Also managed to get him on the phone today to confirm that and asked him about the ones put in the MK2.

He can't recall the make or where the MK2's pistons were sourced but would check when I see him.

He asked me what specific engine yours will be for which, I couldn't answer... if you PM those details and the engine number / or registration he said it would help.

Just to stress he doesn't supply pistons etc... best I can do is try and find out where he inturn gets them, you'll have to chase that up yourself.

    Thanks for that.
    It’s a 1982 VW Golf 1.6 GTI MK1
    Reg AAC 814X
    Engine code EG
It’s standard size but needs boring +.5 or +1.0.
    Hope this helps

Just built an EG back to std spec (cos I can..) and struggled to find some +0.5mm ones. Did find a mint set in the end, but think I was very lucky.
Nearly bought a set of forgies for it, it would have been an utter waste for a road engine, but it's done now. Not a clue what its going into, but in the future I think there will be a lot of people putting there early mk1 gti's back to factory spec. Got another two EG's 'in stock' for rebuilds too. And a rare 4 speed gti box, linkage etc etc

No thanks. The motor is complete, got the block bored to match etc etc, so have a reasonable amount of money
    tied up in it
    Good luck
