I'm sure I've probably eaten it more than once in the takeaways round my end :)

The only real fix is to keep a terrier in the barn where the cars are Or at very least a decent sized cat. Animal shelters would be happy i would hope for you to rehome a cat or two surely?. If they get a good hold the rats will eat anything.

You'll never seal it up tight enough to stop them getting in, even getting rid of the brambles won't stop them.

I like the idea of that 4 rat trap you posted in the OP Mike!

If it's harder to get into mine then hopefully they'll go in the next barn. It'll also help if I don't spill any more veg oil on the floor!

A smear of peanut butter is best for the traps

I get them in the garage, they go mad for my fishing baits

Scores on the doors from tonight... one trap tripped, no corpses or bits of beastie. More bait taken though.

Christmas is cancelled for Mr Ratty ;) No tasty wiring looms and classic upholstery in his stocking.

    No rifle, no time ;)

Checked the traps yesterday after a few days away. No change. Maybe the poison got the ones that the traps didn't.

Can't make up my mind if that's more or less humane than the jaw traps I've got. Less risk to other animals than from putting poison down... for sure.
