Yip, I bought this from a mate who already had 2 pieces of samco hose on it and a reducer ring to fit it to the AFM.

The hose from the ISV was a little tricky. I had to remove the angled plastic bit, soak the hose in warm water to stretch it on then used an old hose clip from an old engine to secure it. It's quite stretched so I'm keeping an eye on it expecting it to split at some stage.

I'd heard bibboystoys used to stock them but also read people were having trouble sourcing them.

    Have you tried ebay?

are you serious?!! did you get dyno figs before and after on the same rollers?

how could turning it round produce 20% more bhp?

    I'm just curious...

yeh im serious, with the body in the normal place, running stage 5 port polish and gas flow, angled and seated valves, 285 kent cam, 4 branch, FSE valve and ecu powerchip etc the car produced 159 bhp on the rollers. (115 standard). with the modified inlet, the car produced 187 bhp on the rollers.

we are using an AGG manifold and we think its because the new position doesnt allow the air flow to be hindered in anyway, its smooth striaght into the engine with no channels or places to catch where it has to flow around corners.

we have a few probs like throttle cable position and length but the rest is really just basic engineering to do it, this is a close up of the body side on, its the first development so its not very clean yet!!!

Interesting, that makes it one of the most powerful 8v cars I have seen.

Where did you get the head work done?

2 seperate sets of rollers were used, both produced over 180bhp Power crazy motorsport do all my engine work, its only a first stage development so tidyness wasnt an issue to start with!! timing the engine was the most crucial bit, cam isnt lumpy at all even tho its a 285 and it revs to 7000 with no problems.

we were shocked and couldn't beleive the power output, running a FM mk1 box and 4:47 final drive so its very very rapid.

hmmm ideally you need to go back to the first rollers and test again if you want any real idea of what you may have gained

no. we just dont beleive rollers, i dont think anyone does?

dynos are only any use if you go back to the same one to see what youve gained. mine is no way in a million years making 174bhp lol but when i go back, it may be upto 180, which i will show ive gain x amount

il run it up on the rollers and see what i get. then il take it away and do it again. we ran the car before any mods and it was giving 117 bhp before we started.

and i will say .... these are just figures at the end of the day ..... put it on the road and my titanic boat of a mk3 certainly gives results.

I'm not doubting you mate just very curious before I go out and chop my tb up and get the welder out.

I remember back in my Corsa days there was an product called the Mantzel intake which straightened up the path of the inlet and on the 1.6 XE 16v engine power went up from 110 to near 140bhp. These were well known for being a sound product that produced proven gains and was well worth the 450 they cost at the time.

So I don't doubt the gains just the rollers at Matt said. Keep us posted when you get it back on the rollers. I'd be keen to try this if it can be worked with a pb inlet and TB.
