I am hoping there is an ICE expert on here?

I have a Pioneer CDX-P25 six disc CD changer fitted to a DEH-P9600MP head unit. I also have a MEH-P9100R with a steering wheel remote. I think its a Pioneer CD-SR100 remote which should work with any head unit with a P in model number? Battery is new and so is steering wheel remote. I am confused, can anyone shed any light why it won't work with the DEH-P9600MP head unit? I think the remote is infra-red type rathar than Bluetooth.

    I am puzzled.

    Here is the cd changer

Similar to my set up in the Scirocco,

I have Pioneer KEH-P8200RDS, DEQ9200 and CDX12 Multi with both Steering Wheel and 'Choc-a-Block' remote.

Yes they are defo Infra Red as mine is around 1994-95 when I bought it.

So not entirely sure why your's is failing to work?

Do you have any other remotes for it,

This came with my head unit.

Yes I got this remote with it.

I think I have found the problem... possibly.. Look at the last two links I posted up on the first thread and compare remote pictures. Looks like the MEH-P9100R headuint with remote is different to the Pioneer CD-SR100 remote. I have now ordered one from the states.

BTW the Pioneer DEQ9200 is a real retro headunit. Love it.... those go for alot of money on ebay. I like the OEL display that Pioneer did but Sony, JVC and Alpine copied the idea after Pioneer released the first OEL.

    Glad ya getting it sorted.

Yeah, retro units gotta love it, though I might be changing my whole setup for a Pioneer AVIC-F950DAB.

If I do another tour of Europe again, I want SatNav & DAB built in this time :)

All sorted. I finally got my Pioneer steering wheel remote from the US yesterday. It worked first time. Now I have my stereo control at my finger tips!! [:D]
