    thanks,keith/mike/and trev.

ive got an ecu on the way from a sound chap off the rado forum, and for the price of the postage!
    cant thank him enough,superb!

thanks a lot for the offer trev, appreciate it m8.

last night darren at g-werks ran through some tests with me over the phone (big help, thanks darren!) and we basically found that all sensors are fine, all vaccuum is fine, and all earths have little resistance including the ecu earths.

so really it left the ecu or the new chip.

after speaking to darren i put the old superchip back in,and the problem was still there [8(] i had so much hope! but obviously it wasnt gonna be that easy for me!

but at least its pointing towards the ecu now.

ive just got a horrible feeling that wont be it either, but its the only feckin thing left to try surely!

apart from maybe the t-body i ported/polished but darren reckons it looks ok,or maybe a bottom end problem, but it dosnt use a drop of oil.

tis breathing heavy out the rocker though, which it didnt do before. [:s]

thanks to everyone who has helped or just wished me luck in sorting it

and i think im on my way to making a decision on a possible new car...

    neil.

not as yet, looking at all the pistons and valves,it looks to be burning really nice and evenly, and theres not 'a lot' of carbon build up.

if the ecu dosnt sort it (praying!) can i give you a shout on the compression tester rick?

had a read through the link, not much i can understand really

    cheers,neil. :)

This reminds me a bit of my scorocco when the fuel pump was almost
dead, it started backfiring into the inlet manifold too, hard enough to
blow the induction pipes off the airflow meter. no idea what it was
causing tbh, but a new fuel pump solved it.

i really dont know m8,its just fecked man  << gotta laugh eh?

i just had it ticking over in the hope that it magically fixed itself [:s]

and while popping my head in to check temps etc, going through the mfa,the rev counter just dropped and didnt move again.

    didnt affect anything else either...

its just it takes the feed for the rev counter off the coil... if the coils f**ked it may cause poo running.
