I have an issue with my polo. At around 3k rpm the EPC light comes on and engine power is cut, if i back off as soon as it illuminates it goes off, this can be repeated multiple times.

    16705 engine speed sensor g28
    p0321 35 10 implausible signal - intermittent

    16706 engine speed sensor g28
    p0322 35 10 no signal - intermittent

i cant actually locate the sensor, ive read its also called the camshaft position sensor but i cant find this part on the engine anywhere? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Camshaft...161B-PG1-Top-Quality-Replacement/332308716905

BJX cam sensor is part number 058905161B, same part number as used on mk4 golf 20vt lump amongst others. Its in the end of the head driver side under the cambelt cover

Thanks folks. i just tried the sensor from a 20vt i have but no luck, does it have to be calibrated maybe?

maybe its the crank sensor, ive found conflicting info as to what exactly the speed sensor refers to, i suppose it could be the loom

yeah actually g28 would usually be the crank sensor, certainly worth trying that next if another cam sensor didn't solve the issue. Part number is 06A906433L again same as a MK4 20v amongst others.
