Hi I am replacing the brack that sits under the cast Alternator bracket on my mk2 golf 16v How can I prevent it from snapping? and when fitting it back should the long M8 bolt going through the 2 be torqued up very tight or should there be movement before bolting down down the heavy alternator bracket (4 nuts) New bracket (Blue circle part that had snapped on old one) this is how the old one was snapped and that long m8 bolt was seized - wondering if that bracket was broken on previous owners removal attempt :
