    Only about 152ft lbs but in a mk1 ;)

EDIT:Weird thing is when i slam the gas down on a corner should it normally start to slide (especially in wet) or should i accelerate more progressive? im an on or off man at the mo [:$] but i do suffer with torque steer when on full swing.

EDIT2:also if i wheelspin heavy in 1st gear the wheels dont spin up so much on the ground but seem to bounce off the ground as it fights for traction [:s] .

    Mike..

If your front wheels are bouncing then that suggests your front dampers are too soft. If they spin straight up they are too hard.

And torque isn't any more powerful just because it's in a Mk1 ;)

Just winding you up mate ;)

I'll have to try adjusting the dampners again......got the fronts on 75% stiff |& the rears on 50%.

Doesnt do it all the time but the wheels light up way too easy especially in any wet conditions [:^(] .

yeah what was it Jackie Stewart used to do

put a bowl on the bonnet with a ball in it, if the ball came out of the bowl then you were a crap driver. He could lap at qualifying pace without it coming out, smooooooooooooooooooth eh!

    guys, slightly off-topic but related:

For a road-only (ie no track or off-road use) car what do you reckon is more suitable: trick diff or traction control? or both? or neither?

I have my engine and gearbox coming out of the car within the next month for new head and new flywheel and have been wondering about a diff, it would seem a sensible time to fit it ready for next year, but do i really need it mine is not that powerfull , i guess it would benifit on the corners ?

Tris - mines not really that powerful either, but it makes a huge difference.

I don't think it will be much better for me on the track - as the slicks don't spin up.

If you're having the engine and box out anyway Tris, it's the perfect chance to get a diff in there, Having not tried mine with the slicks and diff on track I can't really say what it'll be like [:s]

    Better be GOOD though

    Update on the 'new' box..

Got stuck in 4th gear on way home from Worcester last Monday morning and now difficult to go from 3rd-4th-5th and back down the box, not linkage related as far as I can see as with all the linkage disconnected it difficult to engage gears, as it's leaking and noisy as well, I've taken it out and it's going back to Stealth on Monday [xx(]
